Arrival ;
You've woken up in a decrepit bedroom, with one suitcase nearby. You're naked, and the suitcase is your only clothing source. It contains several pieces of clothing, but none of them are yours - and they all happen to be sexy detective clothes. A good example. There are a mix of types for both genders. There's a stuffed animal on the bed, one that matches your inner heart's want for species.
You're free to explore this hotel. As you do, nobody greets you. But what you find is that no matter what you try, there's some sort of barrier keeping you from leaving. It's not that the windows or doors are barred off, excepting doors leading to unlocked places. It's that if you try, an invisible barrier stops you.
Mastermind ;

A guy comes out in a baby mask, as many of you have gathered to figure out what's going on. You can see it in the icon. He's doing a little jig, a cute little dance. He's singing this song in acapella. Eventually, he trails off and stops, looking at the group silently.
And then he bows, but says nothing.

So. That night, in the ballroom, a woman descends from the ceiling, her tentacles waving slowly. She has a smirk on her face as she comes down.
"So, all you little darlings must be wondering what's happening. After all, our leader isn't the best at speaking. As you must know, you're trapped here. We want you to play a little mystery game of murder."
Her tentacles undulating, she looks for reactions.
Motive
Behold the Jabberwocky, as he eats your kind. Snicker snacker as the blade becomes drawn, drip drip drip as the blood falls from your loved ones. Wish to save them? Kill someone else first.
Murder;
Someone's been murdered. The death is terrible but it's time to investigate. Maybe you'll use the corkboard, or maybe you'll follow the bloody trail of evidence first. Whatever you decide, it's time to get cracking.
Trial;
It's time to put someone on trial. Could it be you? Lay out the evidence and see who you think's at fault. You're all gathered in the ballroom to be the judge and jury.

[ Sora is careful to not step on the evidence, keeping an eye out for any other signs of interest. ]
Technically, yes. Her name is Ursula and is a sea witch. She usually make deals - or trades with some sort of clause that must be fulfilled. A voice for a mermaid's chance at a human life. If she thinks the deal is going too well for her "client", she'll pull tricks.

[the kid seemed clever, though, hopefully too clever to end up dead. why were there so many fucking kids here?! it really bothered him, that someone would make a bunch of young people play a sick game like this. or anyone in general.]
That sounds ... oddly familiar, but I can't put my finger on it. The witch stuff, I mean. Probably just because it sounds like something out of Into The Woods. Anyway - do you think that she's made some kind of deal with the guy running this?

[ Alive or dead. Sora doesn't really question why there are kids here in a place like this. He's seen younger in worse situations. It's not good or pretty, but it happens. ]
If you know anything about The Little Mermaid stories, maybe that's why. Ursula is the sea witch in the story. [ So close to Into the Woods. ] Probably. She said she was getting paid for helping, didn't say what she was getting paid with.

[the trail takes a turn in the hallway, and he pauses, frowning.]
Okay, we can come back to the -- [he immediately hears Mabel saying "the sea witch?" a couple of years ago, and gives a tiny huff of a laugh. NOW he gets it.] -- sea witch later. This hallway ... nobody's staying down here. Why would the victim come this way?
[unless, perhaps, it's the murderer who was wounded and leaving the trail? who knows?]
